What shall I do to make sure my long term care insurance does not run out on me when I need it most?

Hello there, Perry.

The most sensible thing I can tell you is to make sure that you are getting a long term care insurance policy that is going to last as long as it needs to last. You can always ask your local insurance agent in Ohio about the life of your long term care insurance policy and how long you can expect it to be there for you.

No one wants an insurance that runs out at the time of old age, when you are mostly needy and might not be able to take care of your bills. As early as now, you have to be sure that you are able to get as much out of the policy as you can. You better be aware of how long the policy will last and if there is anything you can do if it runs out on you. I know of many policies which will be extendable by year. When you say extendable, these are one year policies that you can extend at the end of the year. An extendable long term care insurance policy is especially fit for people who are not aware of how much longer they will be alive. Therefore, this will be renewable until the person passes away.

If you do not want this kind of arrangement, then you can do something else to be sure that the long term care insurance policy you take out is going to last until the end of a person’s life. You can do this by talking to your local insurer in Ohio and verify if your current long term care insurance policy is the right type for your needs and if it will last for your entire life. By doing this, you will certainly get the peace of mind that you need in knowing that you long term care insurance will not run out.
